Our
crews arrive when the foundation is complete and will build the subfloor to
suit the plan. The log wall system is then installed. Depending on your requirements,
a trussed, post & beam or framing lumber roof system is available.
Dormers, walkout, porches, skylights, decks, sunrooms, etc., can be included in any home design. A mixture of log, post & beam and frame makes for a spectacular dream home.
About the log....
Log wall systems are all double tongue & grooved, machine
milled in exacting profiles of your choice. Most commonly used are 6"
wide x 6" high or 8" wide x 6" high with an option for 10"
wide x 6" high. The thicker the wall, the warmer the home. All logs are
gasketed, sealed and anchored to adjoining logs in a weather-tight system
allowing for settling.
All doors and windows, 2x6 bucks are installed to allow for settling in weather-tight fashion. Partitions are installed to allow for settling.
White cedar or pine logs are both available. Corner systems we use are butt & pass or corner post (piéce en piéce).
